Hey, this is Duane this is the only part of this i am in charge of (by choice) I love to build, design, engineer the new exotic things never done (thus the portable brewpub). It has afforded me the pleasure to take on some crazy projects, but lately there has been alot of interest on portable brewpubs all over the world!! I get to write something??? WOW!!I became a welder in 1987 as a boilermaker, traveled the country and after a few years found the food industry, pipefitting welding all stainless steel( food grade -MUCH CLEANER)!! In 2000 started my own business traveling still building food, Pharmecutical, plants all over the country, where I had the chance to work on a few breweries. The home brewing bug bit me, HARD!!!! I played around, made 5 gallon batches, then scaled back to 2.5 to perfect recipies, and started collecting things for my "big build" That was supposed to be 15 gallons. I Boiled over on the stove a few too many times and then... I was in the yard with a turkey burner. So 5 went to 10 then to 20 then I realized I couldnt carry all that hot wort and then pumps came into play. Then I did a job with a food plant (cant mention any names) and I removed a jacketed tank and replaced it with a nitrogen tank. when I asked the engineer what to do with the tank he told me to throw it in the "boneyard". HMMM I asked him if he liked beer... a keg of my homebrew later and then I had a $10,000 mash tun, It was on!! After that I couldnt stop dreamin up crazy ways to do th undone, everythin in this business has been done so it was challenging, but a hell of alot of fun!! So now we have a 3 1/2 bbl (94 gallon) systyem we can push to approx 120-140 (depending on recipe) all in about 3 hrs!! 2 flatscreen TV's 8 beer taps, 2 by the brewkettle (hate to walk away from the brewkettle) 6 at the bar, surround sound, dvd player, all ideas shared by friends after a good days work over a beer or 3!! Thats why I love craft beer and the industry so much everyone shares ideas and info!!! Send your ideas to us the crazier the better!! My current project is a brewery/distillery/essential oil distillery on a trailer 15 gallons, its been a bit of challenge but alot of fun, I am almost done though so I need a new crazy idea!!!
